Actress Lee Si Young recently opened up about the scary experience she had while giving birth to her second child.

In a YouTube appearance on January 1, KST, the actress shared that she had to give birth through a C-section, but general anaesthesia was not an option since she couldn’t drink water or take any medicine before. So, she was given spinal anesthesia while she underwent a cesarean delivery. “I was awake for two hours,” she recalled.
Lee Si Young confessed, “It was scary, but the situation was urgent, so I gave birth two weeks earlier than my due date.” Once the surgery was over, the medical staff revealed to the actress that she was in a pretty dangerous situation that could have potentially led to a hysterectomy as well. They chose not to disclose this information before the surgery out of consideration for the mother’s anxiety.
The actress admitted that giving birth at 44 was not easy, but also expressed her surprise at how fast her body, which is used to intense workouts, recovered differently from others. “They said my condition was so clean, just like my first birth, that there was nothing to do,” she added.
Meanwhile, Lee gave birth to her second child in November 2025, months after divorcing her husband. Her second pregnancy has been controversial for a number of reasons. Read more about it here:
