ADOR has addressed growing concerns surrounding its ongoing legal dispute with NewJeans member Danielle, firmly stating that it is not restricting her entertainment activities.
On March 26, during a pre-trial hearing at the Seoul Central District Court, ADOR pushed back against claims that its ₩43.0 billion KRW (about $28.6 million USD) damages lawsuit against Danielle, her family, and former CEO Min Hee Jin is affecting her ability to work. They emphasized that any decision to resume activities ultimately lies with the individual.
“This is a lawsuit regarding damages and penalties. It does not determine or restrict Danielle’s entertainment activities.”
However, Danielle’s legal team argued otherwise, suggesting that the situation is not so simple. They pointed out that since ADOR initiated the lawsuit citing serious violations, the company should already possess sufficient evidence instead of attempting to build a case through the legal process.
They also highlighted that three months have already passed since the case began, requesting a clearer timeline for proceedings so both sides can properly submit evidence and responses.
Most notably, Danielle’s side raised concerns about potential interference, stating that if she were to resume activities, ADOR would likely object or create disputes, casting doubt on the company’s claim that her career remains unaffected.
