Akdong Musician (also known as AKMU) member Lee Suhyun has successfully lost 30kg and spoke about the process.
On the 17th, a new video titled “Everything About Lee Suhyun’s Blooming Project” was released on her YouTube channel.
In the video, Lee Suhyun revealed that two years ago, she gained nearly 40kg due to stress-induced binge eating, which also led to social anxiety. She then went through a slump but started dieting to lose the gained weight and documented the process on camera.
After losing 15kg at that time, Lee Suhyun said, “I need to lose 25kg more. My ultimate goal is to lose 40kg,” adding, “For several weeks, I’ve only been eating vegetables. This is my third week on the diet, and I’ve had delivery food only once, so I’ve adjusted to eating healthy meals.”
She continued, “I want to give up, but I won’t,” and opened up about going on a fasting retreat with her brother Lee Chanhyuk and a trainer, describing the experience as “so terrible that I never want to go through it again.”
Continuing her diet, Lee Suhyun eventually succeeded in losing nearly 30kg from her highest weight.
She added, “From now on, I have to maintain it myself, so I’ve decided to gain freedom to improve my self-control and take responsibility for it. I’m trying to lose weight a bit slower until summer. I’m not as sensitive about my appearance as others, so I think I’m already very pretty.”
