Social media is in an uproar over BLACKPINK Jennie‘s alleged insecurity toward NewJeans‘ Minji.

The discourse began with a post accusing Jennie of feeling “threatened” by her juniors and claiming that her mother meddled in the matter as well. These claims were based on a K-Pop commentator’s YouTube video, in which she mentioned that she had acquaintances in the advertising industry who gave her the “tea” on Jennie. The YouTuber went on to state that when Minji was appointed as an ambassador for Chanel, the BLACKPINK member and her mother allegedly became “very angry” at the possibility of Minji replacing her. The situation was so volatile that, allegedly, the brand had to reassure them that Jennie’s ambassadorship was not under any threat.

BLACKPINK fans, on the other hand, were left baffled by this claim. Many of them pointed out how it didn’t make sense for a multi-billion-dollar fashion house to walk on eggshells for a single celebrity, and also the lack of credibility of the source in the first place.
yea so this isn’t anything new btw, whenever brands start prioritizing new ambassadors, it’s pretty normal for the teams of the old ambassadors to have meetings with the brand to ensure that their client’s contract is safe & there aren’t any sudden surprises.
