- With production now in full swing, JTBC’s Human x Gumiho has officially been slotted on the schedule for 2027, with Jeon Ji-hyun (Tempest) and Ji Chang-wook (The Manipulated) leading the cast. Co-starring Cha Joo-young (Climax), Kang Yoo-seok (Law and the City), Kim Jong-soo (Taxi Driver 3), as well as Kim Min-seok (Typhoon Family), the fantasy rom-com has also lined up cameos from Hwang In-yub (Dear X), Seolhyun (Light Shop), and Lee Jae-in (Spring Fever). PD Kim Jung-shik (No Gain No Love) is directing with writing by Im Me-ah-ri (Doom at Your Service, Beauty Inside). [JTBC]
- It’s been busy on the JTBC front with preparations for Sacred Jewel (previously, Marble of God) as well, which will be premiering at the Cannes International Series Festival later this April. Headlined by Ahn Bo-hyun (Spring Fever) and Lee Sung-min (Nine Puzzles), in addition to Soo-hyun (Gyeongseong Creature 2), Ha Yoon-kyung (Undercover Miss Hong), and Yoon Kyun-sang (Law and the City), the Goryeo-era sageuk has PD Jung Dae-yoon (Reborn Rich) at the helm and scripts penned by Jung Hyun-min (Nokdu Flower). - New character stills have dropped on Netflix’s If Wishes Could Kill, showcasing the horror’s soon-to-be haunted student cast: Jeon So-young (Honour), Kang Mina (Twelve), Baek Sun-ho (Dear X), Hyun Woo-seok (Cheer Up), and Lee Hyo-je (Taxi Driver 3). The 8-episode revenge tale will be launching on April 24, with PD Park Yoon-seo (Moving) and writer Park Joong-sub (Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman) leading the team. [YTN]
- Lee Jong-won (You and Everything Else) is said to be reviewing an offer for a new series called A Proper Romance (roughly translated, working title), potentially joining Park Hyung-shik (Twelve) and Park Kyu-young (Squid Game 3). With PD Nam Sung-woo (My Lovely Liar) attached to direct, the office romance is in the early stages and is expected to release on an online streaming platform (likely Netflix). [Newsen, Xports News]
- Casting also continues on the medical rom-com Sleeping Doctor, with Kim Yoon-hye (Love Scout) now reportedly considering the role of the second lead nurse. If all the stars align, she’ll be acting alongside Jin Ki-joo (Undercover High School) and Kim Sung-chul (Boyfriend on Demand) who were previously reported to be in talks. Production is being led by PD Lee Hyun-kyung (Nothing Uncovered) and writer Baek Eun-kyung (Once Upon a Small Town). [Newsen, YTN]
- In the meantime, we can expect to see Kim Sung-chul on Disney+’s upcoming Gold Land, joining hands with Park Bo-young (Our Unwritten Seoul) to claim our story’s smuggled loot. Coming to our screens this month on April 29, the crime-action also embroils Lee Hyun-wook (Shark – The Storm), Kim Hee-won (Han River Police), Moon Jung-hee (The Practical Guide to Love), and Lee Kwang-soo (The Manipulated).
