- Speaking of period-political tales, promos have kicked off on Disney+ with the first bundle of stills for Made in Korea 2. The sequel moves ahead to 9 years after the events of Season 1 and the tension remains thick between our three returning leads: Hyun Bin (Crash Landing on You), Jung Woo-sung (Tell Me That You Love Me), and Woo Do-hwan (Bloodhounds 2). The new second season will be coming to our screens later this year. [Xports News]
- On SBS, we’ll be strapping in on May 8 for a timeslip journey on My Royal Nemesis, where the executed concubine Im Ji-yeon (Nice to Not Meet You) makes a mighty jump from Joseon to the 21st century, present day. Pictured next to her chaebol co-star Heo Nam-joon (A Hundred Memories) in the newly released poster, the fantasy rom-com has PD Han Tae-sub (Cheer Up, Stove League) directing and scripts by Kang Hyun-joo (Lost in Starlight). - MBC’s Fifties Professionals has come out with a new poster as well, showcasing a three-way face-off between our story’s ajusshi trio: Shin Ha-kyun (The Auditors), Oh Jung-se (We Are All Trying Here), and Heo Sung-tae (Phantom Lawyer). Helmed by PD Han Dong-hwa (Shadow Detective) with writing by Jang Won-seop, the action-comedy will be launching on May 22 and will be broadcasting on weekends, following Perfect Crown. [MBC]
- A hero series – though a little more bumbling – awaits us also on Netflix, assembling Park Eun-bin (Hyper Knife), Cha Eun-woo (Wonderful World), Choi Dae-hoon (Pro Bono), and Im Sung-jae (Law and the City) in the latest characters stills. Together, they are The WONDERfools and will be saving the streets of 1999 South Korea when the comedy-adventure begins on May 15. Production is being led by PD Yoo In-shik (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim) and writer Heo Da-joong (Extreme Job). [Sports Donga]
