Shin Ye-eun, Park Bo-gum
- After beginning talks with Park Bo-gum (Good Boy) last year, casting continues for the romance drama Night Traveler (roughly translated), which now has Shin Ye-eun (The Murky Stream) reviewing an offer to play the female lead. Production remains in the planning stages with writer Yoon Ji-ryun (Move to Heaven) penning the scripts. In the meantime, we’ll be seeing Shin next on ENA’s Endurance Doctor (working title), while Park’s sageuk film Canvas of Blood is expected to release later this year. - Kim Se-jung (Moon River) is considering a turn as High School Queen and is in the running to take on the titular character. Incidentally, Shin Ye-eun was previously reported to be tapped as well, which means she may have declined or the two actors are in discussions for different roles. Based on a popular webtoon by the same title, the fantasy-action has PD Yoon Sung-shik (The Haunted Palace, Mr. Queen) and writer Kim Ah-rim leading the team. [Ilgan Sports, Newsen]
Kim Se-jung, Kim Da-mi
- A new period noir is also in the works and is courting Kim Da-mi (A Hundred Memories) to star as our title’s Docile Killer (roughly translated). If she accepts, Kim will be playing a modest housewife and mother in 1970-80s South Korea, who is suddenly hit with divorce. And while looking for a new job, she unexpectedly realizes that she has a knack for the assassin life. PD Lee Jung-heum (Our Movie, Inspector Koo) is at the the helm with Joo Hwa-mi (The Atypical Family) writing. [My Daily, Newsen]
- The campus rom-com and webtoon Romance 101 (not to be confused with Crushology 101) is being made into a drama series and is said to have Hwang In-yub (Dear X), Jo Yi-hyun (Head Over Heels), and The Boyz’ Kim Young-hoon (Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938) headlining the adaptation. Production is currently in the early stages and has PD Lee Hyung-min (Miss Night and Day) attached to direct. [JTBC; News1 (1), (2)]
- TVING has come out with more character posters for the upcoming Yumi’s Cells 3, showcasing the two leads of this new third season: our returning heroine Kim Go-eun (The Price of Confession) alongside her new editor and new love interest Kim Jae-won (The Art of Sarah). Slated to premiere on April 13 next week, the cozy, office rom-com will be broadcasting in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot. [MBC]
