The late Barbie Hsu’s younger sister, Dee Hsu, confessed to the pain of losing her family and the guilt she had been hiding.
According to Taiwanese media ETtoday on the 20th, Dee Hsu recently participated in the recording of a variety show and shared her feelings.
Since Barbie Hsu’s passing, she had refrained from giving official interviews and said, “After my sister left, my life was a void for a very long time. I wandered to the point where I didn’t even know what I was doing.”
She added, “I wasn’t living like a wreck, but I did rely on alcohol. Sitting down with my mother to talk about my sister was the only outlet for my sorrow,” she said bitterly.
She revealed that she was the one who suggested the last trip to Japan. “At the time, my mother opposed the trip because of the high costs. Every time I think of my sister, I’m tormented by thoughts like, ‘If only we had listened to mother and not gone, this tragedy might not have happened,’” she confessed her guilt.
She also said, “My mother told me I should never think like that, but deep down, I still carry profound guilt,” conveying her grief and regret.
The late Barbie Hsu died on February 2nd last year from pneumonia and influenza while on a trip to Japan.
She was a beloved actress well known domestically for various dramas. In 2022, she miraculously reunited with her ex-lover, DJ Koo, after 23 years and married him, but their story ended tragically, deeply saddening many.
