SECRET member Jun Hyosung opened up about a difficult period in her career.
On June 15, 2026 (KST), in a new video uploaded to comedian Kim Sook’s YouTube channel, Kim Sook reunited with Jun Hyosung, whom she previously worked with on the MBC Every1 variety show Video Star.
As the two sat down to eat together, Kim Sook reflected on their time working on the show. “We know each other from Video Star,” Kim Sook said, “and we used to eat together in the waiting room every week, but Hyosung was going through some pain at the time.”
She then revealed the shocking reason, which Jun Hyosung confirmed to be true.
Turns out Hyosung didn’t get paid at all, right? You didn’t receive any of the money for the work you did over three years.

Kim Sook admitted that, looking back, she had noticed the change in Hyosung at the time but did not fully understand why. “At first, she was really passionate,” Kim Sook said. “But at some point, I wondered, ‘Why does she seem so unmotivated? Where did her spark go?’ It was because she wasn’t earning any money,” she added.
Jun Hyosung replied that she had tried to express it, but the period was also one that forced her to grow. “It was right around the time I was going from my 20s into my 30s,” she said.
Back then, I didn’t know how to find happiness outside of work. I learned a lot about life during that time. I became more mature.

Having grown through what she went through, Jun Hyosung is now back on the K-Pop scene with fellow SECRET members Jung Hana and new member Yebin. The group will release its special mini-album Secret Flavor on June 18.
