Actress Kim Hye Jun, who is currently receiving high praise for her performance in My Bias, My Boss, recently talked about how her visuals helped her bag successful projects.

On August 13, KST, the actress sat down for an interview with iMBC Entertainment to discuss the second season of her Disney+ original series, A Shop for Killers. While My Bias, My Boss marks Kim’s first romantic comedy project in her decade-old career, A Shop for Killers is more aligned with the major genre projects she is primarily remembered for, including Kingdom and Inspector Koo.

When the interviewer asked why she gets consistently cast in genre projects, Kim Hye Jun jokingly attributed it to not having any particularly striking looks or physical attributes.
I have the kind of ordinary face that makes me look like someone you might see anywhere; I often hear people say I look like their younger cousin… I think people find an unpredictable charm in a girl who possesses such an ordinary appearance.

The actress went on to explain that the contrast of seeing an actor with this kind of image firing guns or dealing with bloodshed might be appealing to the industry insiders, adding, “which is likely why they keep casting me.”
Kim also joked that A Shop For Killers and My Bias, My Boss, which feature her in two polar-opposite characters, have overlapped in their release schedules. “It feels surreal to have two projects out at the same time,” she admitted, adding that on days the latter is aired, she feels “pink,” while on days when the former airs, she feels “black.” “It feels like living two different lives,” she concluded.
While the final episode of A Shop for Killers Season 2 was aired on August 12, KST, My Bias, My Boss is still on air.
