Shin Dong Yup first brought up Reply 1994, recalling how popular Jung Woo was at the time—so much so that his wife even set him as her phone wallpaper. He then carefully asked, “You received so much love and were incredibly popular, so I was curious why things seemed to slow down a bit afterward.”
In response, Jung Woo went on to reveal shocking incidents that followed his rise to stardom.
I was incredibly grateful, but as I suddenly became famous, I gained a lot of sasaeng fans… Some people sent me envelopes filled with their own hair, and others wrote letters in blood.

He further shared that some sasaeng fans would come right up to the alley in front of his house to take photos, and would even dig through his trash, leaving viewers stunned. Jung Woo admitted, “I couldn’t really handle that situation.”
For a while, I think I lived in hiding. I was very scared, and I had to be cautious in many ways.

Fortunately, despite the fear he once faced, Jung Woo has slowly found his way back to the spotlight—this time on his own terms. With Audition 109, he not only returns as an actor but also takes creative control behind the scenes, signaling a meaningful new chapter in his career and reminding fans why they fell in love with him in the first place!
