NMIXX have been on a steady climb since their debut, but they seem to have hit an obstacle with their latest album release.

Heavy Serenade managed to sell only 345,000 copies in its first week of release. While this is not a bad number on its own, by any means, it looks worse when compared to their previous releases.

In fact, the drop from Blue Valentine sales — released only a few months before — is staggering. The girl group’s previous release sold almost twice as many copies as Heavy Serenade, at 644,865. That’s nearly a 50% drop between back-to-back comebacks.
It is also nowhere near NMIXX’s highest first-week sales, as they have previously surpassed one million sales with A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream.

The timing makes it stranger. Blue Valentine was a genuine hit. It topped charts for weeks and built real momentum heading into this comeback. As such, fans were naturally expecting that energy to carry over.
Some point to the concept change, arguing the group moved away from what made them stand out in the first place. Others think the drop comes down to logistics. Heavy Serenade had significantly fewer fansign events compared to Blue Valentine.
There’s also the broader argument that this is just how K-Pop works now. Sales peaks are hard to maintain, and a drop after a career high is definitely not unusual across the industry.

Still, a near 300,000 copy difference between two consecutive albums from the same group is hard to brush off for a “Big 4” girl group.
