At the very end of the song, The Weeknd freestyled the outro, and ended it yelling “sing!”— an invitation for Jennie to join in. She, however, turned to the audience and thanked them, effectively ending the performance.

As the clip capturing this moment went massively viral on X (formerly Twitter), netizens flooded the post ridiculing Jennie, claiming that she was “scared” to sing anything outside her fixed lines. Some also compared the moment with The Weeknd’s performance with Ariana Grande, where a same kind of prompt resulted in Grande delivering an iconic vocal riff.
