    “Their loss is well deserved.”

    Following “APT” failing to win any of its three nominations at the 2026 Grammy Awards, old comments made by Bruno Mars have resurfaced and are once again stirring controversy.

    | @brunomars/Instagram

    Back in December, Bruno Mars spoke openly about “APT”’s success and Rosé’s global reach. He praised the song’s cultural impact and compared its moment to PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” calling it a rare instance that hasn’t been seen since.

    No one says it, but I feel like Rosie is the first time we’ve seen this. The last time we’ve seen something to this effect was ‘Gangnam Style.’ I still think that was an amazing thing to happen, this guy comes out and he’s talking about Gangnam style and the whole song is in Korean and that’s the learning lesson, the rock star-ness of that.

    — Bruno Mars

    The absence of any mention of BTS stood out immediately. Given BTS’s well-documented role in expanding K-Pop’s presence globally, some fans interpreted Bruno’s remarks as dismissive.

    So we’re just gonna straight up ignore BTS’s impact lol? Uhhh how exited I am for next year

    @BrunoMars so you are like one of those who like to erase @bts_bighit impact. I liked you but I didn’t know you are like this too

    @BrunoMars
    So, you’re choosing to ignore @bts_bighit‘s impact because you worked with a Korean born New Zealander record label mate? You have selective memory when it comes to acknowledging others’ achievements, it’s disappointing.

    Now, with “APT” walking away empty-handed, those earlier comments are circulating again. Some fans are revisiting the controversy to argue that the praise surrounding “APT” was overstated, while others see the situation as ironic given the Grammy outcome.

    and bruno was weird af for that bts shade like you did all that for what

    bruno and that girl really was here discrediting bts’s achievements LEFT AND RIGHT for them to just be empty handed idc im living for this

    They fact they both were acting so cocky and stealing achievements only for them to lose lol bruno really downgraded

    and never forget what ROSÉ and bruno mars said to the media to erase the history BTS MADE. their loss is well deserved. pic.twitter.com/QBzjFKEllV
