A Brazilian woman who stalked BTS‘s Jungkook has walked free after a South Korean court handed down a suspended sentence, which has left many fans furious.

According to legal sources, Presiding Judge Park Ji Won of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced the Brazilian national to one year in prison with a two-year suspension on charges of violating South Korea’s anti-stalking law and trespassing.

The woman was tried for repeatedly visiting Jungkook’s residence a total of 22 times in December of last year, ringing his doorbell, loitering near the property, and leaving items outside his home. She was subsequently issued an emergency restraining order prohibiting her from approaching within 100 meters of Jungkook or his residence.

    She violated it anyway.

In January, the woman returned to Jungkook’s home and left photographs and printed materials outside his door. Investigators further revealed that she had waited near a side entrance after spotting a food delivery worker enter, then slipped inside herself once the worker came back out.

Despite the repeated violations, the court opted against immediate imprisonment. The judge cited her motivation to “express feelings” rather than “intend harm” as a factor in sentencing, along with the roughly three months she had already spent in detention.

The court also noted that A is expected to be deported once the ruling is finalized, which it deemed sufficient to reduce the risk of reoffending.
