Their management is being called out as well.

BTS is facing the heat across online communities for their new merch line.

    BTS | BIGHIT MUSIC

Recently, HYBE released a new line of official merchandise for BTS’s upcoming ARIRANG world tour and immediately received backlash over the design of a lightstick bag. The lettering on the bag, which said “This is not a bomb,” sparked widespread pushback with many agreeing that the phrase was insensitive in the current global context.

This backlash prompted many to look up the company that was behind the design, which only made the situation more heated. When it was revealed that it was designed by an Israeli company, Urban Sophistication, criticism began pouring in from fans and non-fans alike. Aside from tour merch, HYBE has also announced an official collaboration with the same company for a whole new merch line.

BTS making insensitive merchandise (b*mb jokes again) and the company they are collaborating with being israeli this is absolutely disgusting. Truly, what has this world become? pic.twitter.com/xEX2kFCJkP

made by an ‘israeli’ company. again FUCK YOU AND FREE PALESTINE. @HYBE_MERCH @HYBEOFFICIALtwt https://t.co/sueQ7dA2ek pic.twitter.com/DIWngdY0Xm

these bts phone cases not only cost over 100$ but they are also ugly and the worse part is that’s it’s from an israeli company, i’m so done istg, just when i thought it couldn’t get worse 😭 pic.twitter.com/Evmu4FiBnw

absolutely insane how i was just talking about the zio-adjacent influence within hybe since scooter’s evil ass was put in there. do not buy from this brand – actually think for once and just get something from etsy instead; please it’s not worth it. https://t.co/EJ6LtQkLDd

People also pointed out that the company allegedly used AI for the BTS collab, sparking further backlash.

Urban Sophistication is a proud Zionist company made by Israelis in Tel Aviv. Not only are they Zionists operating in occupied Palestine, but they’re also using AI for the BTS collab.

But sure, keep being blind consumers as the world burns🙄#HYBEDivestFromZionism #FuckAI https://t.co/pfS63J0msz pic.twitter.com/tGSbEjPd9P

This revelation has reignited discussions about HYBE’s adamant association with Zionism and the unwillingness of a significant part of the BTS fanbase to reckon with its implications.

not even surprised atp but the way such a large part of this fandom engage with palestinians or anything related to a literal gen0cide happening before our eyes is disgusting. a lot of u have no heart, no emotional empathy. this behavior is cultic and utterly detached…

    — smooshi ⁷ (@pur_pun_pup) March 30, 2026

yes fuck HYBE for adding up something created by zionist brand and that bag for an army lightstick but also fuck all these fans who made these items sold out within a day. having no empathy and contributing to every cruel thing that happens in the world right now is a choice.

    — wooyounyang ⋆˙ (@httpsonagi) March 30, 2026

idk but sometimes i just wish this fandom is that much active and vocal about this company’s association w/ zionists as we are with achievements. its been years and you guys are still defending and justifying something thats obvious.

    — míkha⁷ (@ftygminn) March 30, 2026

Unlike most of the discussion around HYBE’s association with Zionism, this one seems to have reached Korean netizens as well, drawing further criticism for BTS and their company.

    | Instiz

    • “No, but why do they have to go for an Israeli company of all?”
    • “You can tell that this isn’t just some harmless design decision.”
    • “It seriously sucks.”
    • “Has the company decided to self-destruct?”
    • “Singing a song about fire right when a fire broke out, and doing all this…do they have absolutely no interest in what’s going on in the world?”

While BTS’s reputation has long exceeded that of a K-Pop group into that of a global one, fans are left wondering how long the group and their management will stay divorced from major global sensitivities.
