The safety measures ahead of their Seoul concert have once again sparked backlash.

Ahead of BTS’s full-group comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, strict control measures have sparked backlash among Korean netizens.

With an estimated crowd of up to 260,000 people, Seoul city and police are working to prevent overcrowding and safety risks. As part of this, access to rooftops and upper floors in 31 nearby buildings will be restricted to stop so-called “loophole viewing,” where people try to watch the concert without tickets.

Officials say the decision is aimed at preventing accidents, such as falls or objects being thrown into dense crowds. However, the scale of the restrictions — including reports of checks even affecting wedding guests — has drawn strong criticism online.

Many netizens argue that the measures go too far and question why public resources are being used this way. Some have even threatened not to attend and not watch the boy group’s highly anticipated comeback.

They’ve basically become a group with state-level power. I’m not watching.

    These people are insane.

Even free tickets won’t get me to see them.  Their arrogance is crazy.

Are they seriously making this kind of fuss because they think people would even try to sneak around just to watch a stage like this?

BTS acting like a supranational power. Exercising authority no citizens ever elected them to have!!!

아니 이 정도로 유난을 떨거면, 쌩뚱 맞은 사람들에게까지 불편함 줄거면, 공연장 잡아서 문 닫고 하셔야지. https://t.co/O9P8w6aoxq

If they’re going to go this over the top and cause inconvenience to completely unrelated people, they should just book a proper venue and hold it behind closed doors.
