BTS member Jin has reportedly earned a massive profit after selling one of his luxury properties in Seoul. According to a July 31 report by Herald Economy, Jin sold a residence in an ultra-luxury apartment complex in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for ₩12.7 billion KRW (about $8.80 million USD) in April.
Jin originally purchased the property seven years ago in 2019 for ₩4.49 billion KRW (about $3.11 million USD). This means the BTS member reportedly made around ₩8.21 billion KRW (about $5.69 million USD) in capital gains from the sale alone. The transaction also reportedly had no registered mortgage, leading to speculation that the property was purchased without a secured loan.

The timing of the sale additionally attracted attention as the deal was reportedly completed in early April, approximately one month before the government was set to reintroduce heavier capital gains taxation for owners of multiple homes in designated regulated areas.
Jin previously owned three residences within the same luxury complex. Following the latest sale, he reportedly continues to own two. The Hannam-dong complex was built on the former site of Dankook University and consists of around 600 large, low-rise luxury residences.
It is widely regarded as one of Korea’s most prestigious residential communities and is known for housing numerous celebrities and prominent business figures. The enormous increase in the property’s value has since drawn attention online, with Jin reportedly walking away with more than ₩8 billion KRW in gains after holding the property for seven years.
