Bad Bunny’s record-breaking Super Bowl halftime show has unsurprisingly taken over global headlines. But in an unexpected twist, BTS has also become part of the conversation.

After the NFL spotlighted a non-English performance on one of the world’s biggest stages — with Bad Bunny proudly delivering a set that beautifully showcased Puerto Rican culture to everyone watching — many fans and locals began pushing for BTS to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show.

Several posts suggesting the move went viral quickly, with many arguing that BTS would be the perfect follow-up.
If we’re doing non-English performances for the Super Bowl halftime show now, NFL gotta get BTS next year post-comeback

I hope BTS perform next year Super Bowl halftime show. Let’s continue the trend of pissing off racist whites while continuing to connect through real authentic culture. https://t.co/7H4ejc0xYQ

Some believe the group could continue expanding global representation at the event, while others say the Super Bowl stage is long overdue for major Asian artists.
I’m willing to be ten THOUSAND DOLLARS that next year’s Super Bowl halftime show will either be Tyler, the Creator or BTS. Book it pic.twitter.com/Oe70Pum91W

BTS have already conquered stadium tours, topped global charts, and built one of the largest fanbases ever. For many, it feels like a natural step.
I Can’t Wait For BTS To Headline Next Years Super Bowl! 🔥 #SuperBowLXI

Picking BTS for the Super Bowl would be so awesome to watch the tears flow

The boy group is even leading Billboard’s 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show poll by a massive gap.

However, not all ARMYs are on board.
Some fans argue that BTS does not need the Super Bowl and question whether the environment would be welcoming.
I genuinely don’t understand why y’all want BTS to perform at the #SuperBowl. Did y’all forget how much racism, xenophobic comments, COVID jokes and Chinese slurs they faced during 2021–22 just for attending the Grammys? Bad Bunny is literally being targeted by Donald Trump.

ngl makes me sad that some armys would rather see bts play the super bowl and no doubt face the comments and racism that would come with it than see them spend that time in australia with aussie armys who have loved and waited so patiently for them :/

*I* am scared for BTS to do the super bowl…It’s not the first time I’ve been scared for them, but each and every time they’ve always shown themselves, despite the scary circumstances, and they become bigger than ever. I want it if they want it. Fear be damned.

There are also practical concerns. BTS is set to hold concerts in Melbourne and Sydney around the same time as next year’s Super Bowl, leading Australian fans to push back against any rescheduling.
BTS will be in Australia for their concerts in Melbourne and Sydney around the time of Super Bowl next year and as an Aussie ARMY, Y’ALL WILL NEED TO FIGHT US BEFORE YOU CAN TAKE THEM 😤 Get SB to resched or something because it won’t be us. WE’VE WAITED 9 YEARS. 😑 pic.twitter.com/IJwbMBqN1H

i have to wonder how different this bts/australia tour/super bowl discourse would be if it was american dates on the line

At this point, there is no official confirmation that BTS is even in talks for the event. But the debate alone shows that when such big stages are mentioned, BTS remains at the center of the conversation.
