BTS‘s song “SWIM” is currently embroiled in a heated debate on plagiarism.

    The members of BTS

Recently, BTS released their new album ARIRANG with the title track “SWIM.”

Recently, a popular TikToker who shares similarities between songs shared his thoughts on a comparison between BTS’s “SWIM” and Jason Derulo’s “Ridin’ Solo.”

While the OP was just sharing similarities, which is something he does for many songs, it sparked a lot of criticism towards BTS who said that the group should do something original and that while people are dismissing the claims, if it was any other group, there would be allegations accusing them of “copying.”

Yet, many fans defended BTS, explaining that using samples was common and that similar beats in songs are something often heard, and that it can’t just be called plagiarism.
