Actor Byun Yo Han (also known as Byeon Yo Han) shared his thoughts ahead of his marriage to Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany.
On the 12th, a production presentation for the Netflix film Pavane was held at Megabox COEX in Seoul. Actors Go Ah Sung, Byun Yo Han, Moon Sang Min, and director Lee Jong Pil attended the event.
The film Pavane is a youth romance that tells the story of three people who had closed their hearts but become a light to each other, facing life and love together. It is captured through director Lee Jong Pil’s unique and delicate perspective.
Byun Yo Han spoke about why he joined the project: “I liked the director’s work, and I received the script for Pavane around 8pm. They said it was a romance. I asked, ‘Is this a musical?’ but it wasn’t. I read it twice right then. This adapted work was very special. I was convinced that no one but the director could reinterpret this project. Go Ah Sung and Moon Sang Min are actors I deeply admire, so I decided to participate.”
About his character “Yo Han,” he said, “He is a friend with complex emotions. In the film, he goes beyond simply expressing his feelings honestly and speaks metaphorically to be even more honest. But it’s difficult to say those things, so I often talked with the director. I acted in a way that suited me—like being hurt but as if not hurt, having loved but as if not having loved, knowing but as if not knowing, not knowing but as if knowing. That’s how I portrayed him.”
Notably, Byun Yo Han drew attention last December when it was revealed that he was dating Tiffany with marriage plans. The two became a couple after meeting through the Disney+ series Uncle Samsik, released in May 2024.
When asked about his feelings on marriage, he joked, “That’s not a light question at all, it’s very difficult,” then said, “First, I’m grateful. That’s why you should watch Pavane. It’s about giving and receiving love. I want to meet audiences worldwide through this film and share what love is. I will live well, just as everyone has supported us,” earning applause.
