His acting has been deemed subpar.

Disney+‘s new K-Drama, Made In Korea, was Jung Woo Sung‘s attempt to move past his recent personal life controversies. Did it work, though? Viewers now share that it has only worsened their perception of the troubled actor.

While his co-star Hyun Bin, who plays Baek Ki Tae, has successfully convinced the viewers of a “restrained yet ambitious performance,” Jung Woo Sung and his acting skills have been met with brutal criticism.

Many have pointed out that Jung Woo Sung’s acting, especially when compared to Hyun Bin’s, feels “inferior” and “lacking” overall.

A viral theqoo post showed a compilation of scathing reviews of Jung Woo Sung’s performance in Made In Korea across other popular online communities in Korea, like Naver and Daum cafés, as well as social media platforms like X, too.

    • “Jung Woo Sung has basically never been good at acting. He only got roles because of his looks… and now that he’s older and his reputation has tanked, there’s really nothing left.”
    • “Jung Woo Sung wasn’t that great to begin with anyway. Even Hyun Bin also seems kind of role-dependent… He’s really good in some dramas, but then in Harbin he wasn’t great either.”
    • “Even in 12.12: The Day, Jung Woo Sung was the only one who couldn’t act. His co-stars were delivering godly performances, and he just didn’t have the ability to match or respond to it.”
    • “Same in 12.12: The Day.“
    • “Made In Korea was decent right up until Jung Woo Sung appeared in Episode 1… His acting is so bad it’s distracting. Feels like he hasn’t improved at all since Padam Padam.”
    • “Just watching short clips, I can already tell it’s subpar… Meanwhile, Hyun Bin bulked up and his masculine presence is no joke.”
    • “Seriously, when you watch it, Hyun Bin is good, but Jung Woo Sung keeps f*cking the whole thing over, LOL.”
    • “I mean, not exactly surprising at this point, LOL. But still kind of fascinating.”

Still, Made In Korea is gaining global attention. As of January 7, 2026, the series ranked No. 1 in Disney+’s TV Show Top 10, took first place in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and ranked second in Japan and Singapore—sweeping across Asia and demonstrating overwhelming buzz and popularity.
