Death awaits Jeon So-young in If Wishes Could Kill

Terror haunts the high school halls in Netflix’s latest poster and teaser for If Wishes Could Kill and the clock is set for doomsday for the horror’s student cast: Jeon So-young (Honour) and Kang Mina (Twelve), in addition to Baek Sun-ho (Dear X), Hyun Woo-seok (Cheer Up), and Lee Hyo-je (Taxi Driver 3).
It all starts with this Girigo mobile app in the trailer’s open, that has lured our story’s main five friends with the alluring promise of granting any wishes. And though the not studious Hyung Wook (Lee Hyo-je) proves the app’s powers by acing their next test, no one seems to read the fine print which should indicate that these wishes have a fairly hefty price.
One by one, we then watch as notifications pop-up on each of the characters’ phones, confirming that their wish has indeed been fulfilled exactly as requested. But once the message is marked as read, the curse takes over the phone screen and reveals an ominous timer, ticking down the seconds until their death in 24 hours.
Unable to find a solution on their own, the panicking group has Kang Ha-joon (Hyun Woo-seok) reach out to his sister Jeon So-ni (Taxi Driver 3) and brother-in-law Noh Jae-won (Made in Korea), who happen to be a shaman couple. And thus begins the supernatural battle to save the students over the sequence. But how many – if any – of our characters will manage to survive?
Directed by PD Park Yoon-seo (Moving) with scripts by Park Joong-sub (Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman), Netflix’s upcoming If Wishes Could Kill will be creeping to our screens on April 24.
