The phenomenon of “sasaeng” fans, i.e., fans who are overly obsessed with celebrities and who end up crossing all boundaries to feel closer to them, has been around probably since the concept of celebrities has existed. Nevertheless, their behavior never fails to baffle the general public, no matter how many horror stories they have heard.
Recently, a viral video on X (formerly Twitter) went mega-viral for showing the extreme behavior of some sasaeng fans, who couldn’t care less about the celebrity’s well-being in favor of their urge to get a picture of them.
The video in question reportedly captured two Chinese fans blocking a celebrity’s car with their bodies to get a picture. The two ended up climbing onto the hood of the car, pointing their cameras through the windshield to get a snapshot.

Though it is unclear which celebrity was in the vehicle, this disturbing clip has sparked major reactions across the internet. While some argued that celebrities should be able to take drastic measures to protect themselves from such individuals, others highlighted how ordinary fans often fuel this type of behavior by consuming content that violates celebrities’ privacy.
