A member of the now disbanded girl group ARIAZ has continued spilling tea about her idol experiences.
Previously, member Hyogyeong (now known as Hyokey) spoke about her own group’s ending, along with her thoughts on the K-Pop system.

In another video on her channel, the former idol discussed some of the shadier aspects of the industry, such as rumors that powerful sponsors help individuals rise to success.
Hyokey got straight to the point, answering that yes, K-Pop “sugar daddies” were real.

She admitted to seeing some “pretty messed up” situations, specifically amongst smaller K-Pop labels, rather than larger ones. Hyokey said these agencies don’t have the same massive internal investments and gave the example of a girl group member dating her company’s CEO.
This member was given the most parts and always stood in the center, even though her “skills weren’t that great,” according to Hyokey.

A bit later, she revealed her own experience with this, saying she had to turn down a movie role, likely because her then-agency was trying to take advantage of her desire to act.
