Lee Chae-min, Kim Min-ha
- Lee Chae-min (Cashero) is reviewing an offer to star in a K-drama adaptation of The Miracles of the Namiya General Store, which is also courting Moon Sang-min (To My Beloved Thief to make a special guest appearance. Based on the bestseller Japanese novel by Keigo Higashino that has both stage and film versions (in China and Japan) as well, the 10-episode fantasy is currently in discussions to release on an online streaming platform. - The ever time-traveling Kim Min-ha (Typhoon Family) is said to be in talks for a new series called Embers (working title), which would take her this time to 1980s South Korea. If Kim accepts, she’ll be journeying on a period, spy-adventure (and likely comedy), becoming a government agent who has to go undercover as the leader of a broadcasting station dance team. Production for the series has writer Park Jae-bum (The Fiery Priest, Vincenzo)attached to pen the scripts. [MBC]
- The mood is tense on Netflix in the recently dropped character stills for The Art of Sarah, painting puzzling pieces of our crime-mystery story with Shin Hye-sun (Dear Hyeri) and Lee Jun-hyuk (Mercy for None) headlining the cast lineup. Helmed by PD Kim Jin-min (Goodbye Earth, My Name) with Chu Song-yeon writing, the 8-episode thriller will be launching on February 13 this week. [Sports Donga]
- Speaking of crimes, Jo Jung-seok (Captivating the King) is considering the new series Paper Man (transliterated title) and may be lured down the crooked path of dealing with counterfeit money and fraud. Production for the drama is in the early stages and has filmmaker/PD Lee Il-hyung (Karma, Remember) at the helm. [Newsen]
- Preparations for Disney+’s Moving 2 is well underway and reports now have Sol Kyung-gu (Hyper Knife) joining this upcoming second season, potentially alongside Yeom Jung-ah (Love Take Two) and Roh Yoon-seo (The Frog). Aiming to start filming in June once casting has been finalized, we can also expect Han Hyo-joo (Romantics Anonymous), Go Yoon-jung (Can This Love Be Translated), and Kim Do-hoon (Dear X) among others to reprise their roles from Season 1. With PD Kim Sung-hoon (Kingdom) directing, scripts remain in the hands of original webtoonist Kangfull (Light Shop). [My Daily]
- A new poster and video teaser have come out for U+ Mobile TV’s Love Phobia, showcasing our clashing leads: Yeonwoo (The Tale of Lady Ok) with Kim Hyun-jin (I Dol I). Also starring Jo Yoon-seo (Shark – The Storm) and Choi Byung-chan (Business Proposal), to AI or not to AI is the question behind the romance in this tale, and the rom-com is set to begin on February 19.
