Kim Garam, who withdrew from LE SSERAFIM amid allegations of school violence, recently caught attention when she was spotted in public.
Former LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam Spotted In Public
Now, the former idol has launched a YouTube channel, marking a fresh start as a YouTuber.
On the 13th, Kim Garam created the “garamonly” channel and uploaded her first video titled ep. 01.
In the video, Kim Garam visits a practice room. Speaking to the camera, she said, “Hello. The reason I started this channel is because I wanted to record my acting videos, practice sessions, or just share my daily life.”
She added, “I’ve never done anything like this before, so it’s really awkward, but please understand and I’ll give it a try. Fighting!” Then, the video shows her current focus on studying acting.
She is seen studying in a school library, taking acting lessons, and reviewing by recording her own acting videos at home. Additionally, Kim Garam plays guitar, saying, “This is a song I’ve been practicing lately. Try to follow along,” and shares her guitar performance.
Previously, Kim Garam debuted as a member of LE SSERAFIM in May 2022. However, allegations of school violence surfaced even before the debut teaser was released. Kim Garam’s side denied the claims as “malicious slander” and stated that during middle school, she was actually a victim of school violence, expressing intent to take legal action against the accuser.
Despite this, more allegations and official notices from the school violence countermeasure committee followed. Kim Garam’s side acknowledged the disciplinary measures but explained that their response was to protest inappropriate actions by the accuser’s side, denying any physical assault. They stated, “During this debut process, Kim Garam faced attacks fueled by numerous rumors, causing psychological hardship. After discussion, she decided to temporarily halt activities to focus on healing her hurt feelings,” and she ceased activities just 18 days after debuting. Ultimately, in July, Kim Garam terminated her exclusive contract with Source Music and withdrew from LE SSERAFIM.
After leaving the group, Kim Garam opened a personal social media account last May, fueling speculation about a comeback in the entertainment industry. Additionally, rumors of an exclusive contract with Moden Berry Korea circulated, but the company denied them as “groundless.” Though they did meet with Kim Ga-ram, they reportedly decided not to sign a contract.
Notably, after leaving the group, it was revealed that Kim Garam was admitted to Konkuk University’s College of Arts and Design, Department of Media Acting, drawing public attention. Amid this, Kim Garam has now launched a YouTube channel to share her daily life as a university student studying acting, attracting interest in her future career moves.
