On June 22, The Walt Disney Company announced its Toy Story collaboration with BIGBANG G-Dragon’s brand, peaceminusone.

This is Disney’s first time collaborating with a K-Pop artist and planning everything together from the products to the retail experience.

The concept for the collection is titled The FIRST FAN, which expresses the meaning that “the toys are G-Dragon’s first fans as he chases his dreams.”

The collection will include around 70 products, and will be launched in various cities around the world.

In Korea, the pop-up store will take place in Seongsu starting from July 1.

However, netizens expressed a divided response to the collaboration.

    • “How far will G-Dragon’s influence go…he is truly world-class.”
    • “It’s so cute and pretty.”
    • “Even if he retired as an idol, he would’ve succeeded as a designer.”
    • “So adorable.”
    • “The collaboration matches well.”
    • “Everything is fine, but I am sick of the daisy logo. I wish they would release something else. If it’s G-Dragon’s idea, I’m sure he has better and different ideas. It sometimes feels like the daisy logo stops him from making different things.”
    • “But that’s his brand’s logo, though? If you want something else, then buy a different brand collaboration or just wait.”
