A female idol candidly shared her thoughts on marriage. In particular, she revealed her considerations about freezing her eggs as part of her thoughts on marriage, but the reason she gave up on it caught attention.
In a video released on the 10th, SISTAR member Soyou openly discussed her views on dating and marriage.
When the topic of Soyou’s marriage came up, Heo Kyung Hwan encouraged her, saying, “If you’ve given up on marriage, as your oppa, I don’t agree.” Soyou responded, “It’s not that I won’t get married,” adding, “My life goal was never to be the top Korean star like Beyoncé but to be a caring and devoted wife. Since I was young, my dream was to build a happy family.”
She then shared her story about considering egg freezing. “Around age 30, I planned to freeze my eggs after getting my body healthy,” she said. “But it’s not a one-time thing; you have to get injections in your abdomen daily. I have a serious needle phobia, so it wasn’t easy.” She also admitted, “Going through the COVID period made me feel like I didn’t want to have kids in this world. If I’m not planning to have kids, then what’s the point of getting married? Naturally, the thought of marriage faded away.”
Hearing this, Heo Kyung Hwan joked, “People like this get married all of a sudden,” and Soyou explained, “People around me say that too. It’s not that I dislike marriage, I just have no plans.” However, regarding dating, she said, “I want to date,” and added with a meaningful smile, “It hasn’t been over five years since I last dated. That’s all I’m going to say,” eliciting laughter.
When Heo Kyung Hwan asked her to sing, Soyou laughed and said, “He asks every time we meet.” When Muzi asked, “Have you ever seen Heo Kyung Hwan as a man?” Soyou answered without hesitation, “No,” causing bursts of laughter. Heo Kyung Hwan chimed in, “Same here,” making everyone laugh even more.
Seizing the moment, Soyou also revealed her ideal type. “Basically, I like people who speak nicely. I dislike those who curse,” she said. “I look more at the body than the face. I prefer someone solid rather than too skinny.” She mentioned someone like Kim Jong Kook or Heo Kyung Hwan with a good physique. When Muzi joked, “Maybe the people you met before cursed a lot and were skinny,” Soyou drew a line, saying, “Be careful,” which turned the scene into a laugh riot.
