On March 19, Hyunjung shared a series of updates on her Instagram account, showing injuries to her neck and face. She shared that she was the victim of a random attack, warning followers to be aware of “mentally unwell” individuals around them.

Many expressed concern for the idol after the attack, which seemed to be carried out by a stranger.
On March 20, the company shared an update on the group’s social media, addressing the situation and “apologizing” for the concern it caused. The statement also noted that Hyunjung was “reflecting” on causing concern.

Hyunjung also issued an apology on her account, saying she was “deeply” ashamed of her actions.
As a result, many have expressed outrage, questioning why she, as a victim, was apologizing.
