MNL48 is a Filipino idol girl group based in Manila, Philippines, and formed in 2018 as the fourth international sister group of Japan’s AKB48. Abby Trinidad a former founding member of the group who left in 2023. She was appointed to a major leadership position for the group, MNL48’s General Manager.
On May 10, Abby announced that she would be stepping down from the position. In her statement, she expressed sadness about the situation, mentioned being shocked by developments circulating online, and clarified that she will continue supporting MNL48 in any way she can.
The news has reportedly sparked speculation about internal challenges, online controversies, or rumors affecting the group, including broader concerns about MNL48’s future. Management has not yet announced her replacement.
