A HYBE boy group has been met with scathing backlash over a recent live performance.
The group in question is CORTIS, the fifth-generation boy group under BIGHIT MUSIC.

Recently, a clip of CORTIS performing at the Music Bank World Tour’s Barcelona stop resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter), quickly gaining millions of views. The particular song they were performing, “Acai,” features an autotune-like vocal effect in the studio version, which is a trademark stylistic choice present in most of CORTIS’s discography. However, for the live performance, the group opted to sing without any of those effects, making it sound a little different than the recorded version.

This difference has now triggered a massive debate on X about CORTIS’s vocal skills, with many ridiculing the group for aiming for a Grammy nomination. Some also argued that if a girl group gave a similar performance, the public reaction would be much different.
