HYBE group CORTIS‘s unreleased song performance at a global event has sparked major backlash from netizens.

Recently, CORTIS appeared at the NBA Crossover show held and they performed an unreleased track called “YCC (Young Creator Crew).

Yet, when a video of the performance was posted on social media, it was hit with a wave of criticism towards the group, including their skills as idols but also past allegations about “plagiarizing” artists.

No vocals, no dancing skills, no star quality, just plagiarizing black artists and looking a mess https://t.co/Qdt7kR8zp2

They better keep it unreleased https://t.co/N2kS9gYElY

This is result of a kpop group going somewhere through payola and bribery

They can’t sing well and they don’t even have stage presence 💀🥴 https://t.co/z4rgN76755

Damn Hybe don’t really care about good music and good vocals at all https://t.co/ZAGACdNyFP pic.twitter.com/Fmt2dXHS2L

The group later posted a proper cover, teasing the song.

Once again, the video was met with a wave of malicious hate and criticism towards the song, with some comparing it to past boy group songs but also “doomposting” about the future of K-Pop.

No artistry, no creativity, no identity, no originality, no meaning. There’s literally no difference from this to AI slop. The future of kpop looks bleak. https://t.co/U3bnGJ2v9w

Since debuting, CORTIS has sparked controversy.
