Photos of ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon taken at the airport have sparked heated debate among Korean fans, but it’s not thanks to his fashion or visuals.
A fan site recently shared multiple photos of Sunghoon arriving at the airport.
He was wearing a chic brown coat and appeared to have little to no makeup on.
Alongside full-body shots, the account also uploaded a close-up image focusing on his neck, where the idol’s light stubble could clearly be seen.
While the photos were ordinary by most standards, the close-up quickly drew backlash from some Korean fans. Several criticized the fan site for including the image at all, questioning whether the account was truly run by a fan. Others expressed discomfort, demanded the photo be deleted, or said the post made them unfollow the account.

The reaction stood in sharp contrast to responses from international fans. Many overseas fans defended the photo, arguing that facial and body hair are completely normal. They also criticized the backlash from Korean fans as excessive and unnecessary.

The incident has once again highlighted the cultural gap between domestic and international fans when it comes to beauty standards and expectations placed on idols.
