On January 20, 2026, actors Yoo Hae Jin and Park Jihoon, appeared on the YouTube variety show Salon Drip, hosted by Jang Do Yeon.

They appeared to promote their latest drama, The King’s Warden. Park Jihoon, who plays King Danjong, surprised everyone by revealing the immense amount of weight he had lost for the role. He had gained some weight during his hiatus after Weak Hero. In order to fit his new role, he had to lose weight rapidly. He lost over 15kg in two months! Even his co-star was impressed.

“Danjong is supposed to look hollow and worn out after being exiled, but Jihoon had gained weight. Then when I saw how much weight he lost by the time filming started, it made me trust his acting and his follow-through.”

Park Jihoon also candidly shared a painful memory from his youth. He had been bullied for his weight as a celebrity when he was younger. Park started off as a child actor, so his peers have seen him on television for a long time.

“I didn’t have many friends growing up. I’m from Masan, so my dialect was strong. I was also chubby, so people made fun of me me, saying, ‘He’s that fat but he’s on TV?’ I thought people didn’t want to be friends with me because of the way I talked.”

As he grew older, Park grew into his features and made his debut as one of the most popular members of Wanna One! He later transitioned into acting.
