Influencers Kim Hye-soo and Kim Ji-hoon realize Cheating is Not the Issue Here
by solstices
Well then, what is the issue? In the upcoming Coupang Play original Cheating is Not the Issue Here, two couples on completely opposite ends of the rags and riches spectrum find themselves entangled in a shocking secret that makes even an unforgivable affair look trivial.
Kim Hye-soo (Unmasked) stars as Kyung-hee, the CEO of an interior design firm. Besides her impressive day job, Kyung-hee also basks in online stardom as a popular influencer, showcasing a happy home life with her other half.
Said husband is Kim Ji-hoon (Nice to Not Meet You) as the actor Jae-hong, who walks in the shadow of his wife’s glory. In front of the camera, he’s wholly supportive of her success – but is that genuine, or does it belie an inferiority complex simmering under the surface?
Living just next door, we have Jo Yeo-jung (Made in Korea) as Soo-jung, the director of a dermatology clinic. With her one and only daughter by her side, Soo-jung will do anything to protect her precious child. The question is, just how far is she willing to go?
On the other hand, Kim Jae-chul (The Manipulated) has a conflicting goal as Soo-jung’s ex-husband Bo-sung. Having lost the custody battle in their divorce, Bo-sung is determined to regain the right to raise his daughter no matter what it takes. There’s no doubt that he has schemes up his sleeve, but it remains to be seen whether they bring his daughter to him or fracture their former family even further apart.
With four players in the mix, who will the lovelines connect? Or perhaps the more pressing question is – what exactly is the catastrophic secret lurking behind everyone’s facades?
Helmed by PD Lee Chang-hee (A Killer Paradox) with scripts penned by Jung Eun-kyung and Park Su-rin, Cheating is Not the Issue Here is slated for a 2026 release.
