- Re-stocking the Disney+ shelves in A Shop for Killers 2, our returning hero Lee Dong-wook (The Nice Guy) is busy with preparations in the latest character stills, with plans to re-open the doors on July 22 this month. Also starring his niece and business partner Kim Hye-joon (Cashero), the novel-adaptation’s new second season has production led by PD Lee Kwon (Rescue Me 2) in both directing and scripts. - On Coupang Play, we discuss why Cheating Is Not the Issue Here in the suspense and black comedy’s first poster. Headlined by Kim Hye-soo (Unmasked), Jo Yeo-jung (Made in Korea), Kim Ji-hoon (Dear X), and Kim Jae-chul (Perfect Crown), the series is slated to launch on July 31. - Kim Tae-ri (Jeongnyeon – The Star is Born) is reportedly in talks to star in a new timeslip called I’m the Queen in This Life. Based on the webnovel by the same title, Kim is up to the play the title character who is abandoned by her fiancé as well as her family, and is given the chance for a do-over by returning 15 years in her past. - Jeon Hye-jin (Reborn Rookie) is lining up her next project as well and is said to be reviewing an offer for Sunning Baseball Team (roughly translated), potentially playing wife to Oh Jung-se (Fifties Professionals). The sports comedy will likely release on TVING in 2027, with PD Min Jin-ki (Salon de Holmes) and writer Yoon Ki-young (New Recruit 4) leading the team. [Newsen, YTN]
- Promos continue on Netflix with new posters and a video teaser of The East Palace, calling spirit-catcher Nam Joo-hyuk (Vigilante), court lady Roh Yoon-seo (The Frog), and Joseon’s king Jo Seung-woo (Divorce Attorney Shin) onto its haunted grounds. Creeping to our screens on Friday, July 17, the sageuk-horror is helmed by PD Choi Jung-kyu (Soundtrack #2, The Devil Judge) alongside co-writing by the Bulgasal: Immortal Souls duo, Kwon Sora and Seo Jae-won.
