Jung Hae-in
- A new revenge tale called Lucky Seoul (transliterated title) is in the works on tvN and is said to have Jung Hae-in (Love Next Door) considering the leading role of a VIP real estate agent who becomes victim to a rental scam. Aided by his childhood friends, the chase then begins to hunt down the shady landlord. Expected to start filming early next year, the series has PD Jo Woong (Heroes Next Door) at the helm with writing by Park Joo-yeon (Black Dog). [Joy News 24, My Daily]
- On ENA, preparations are underway for The Queen of Training (roughly translated), which reportedly has offers out to Kim Young-kwang (Walking on Thin Ice) and Lee Joo-myung (Reborn Rookie ) to headline the romantic comedy. With Kim up to play an investor and Lee a veterinarian who works at Kim’s recently acquired zoo, production is aiming for a 2027 broadcast and has PD Song Hyun-wook (Would You Marry Me, Walking on Thin Ice) attached to direct. - Casting continues on Netflix’s upcoming Solo Leveling as well, with Lee Sung-min (Teach You a Lesson) and Rain (Bloodhounds 2) in talks to potentially join the lineup. Starring Byun Woo-seok (Perfect Crown), Han So-hee (Gyeongseong Creature), Kang Yoo-seok (Law and the City), and Kang Mina (See You at Work Tomorrow), the live-action series remake has filmmakers Lee Hae-joon (Ashfall) and Kim Byung-seo (Cold Eyes) leading the team. Lee Sung-min, Rain
- A new video teaser has dropped on KBS, dishing out the conflict for Ha Suk-jin (Siren’s Kiss) and Hani, a.k.a. Ahn Hee-yeon, (Call It Love) in Love on the Menu. The weekender and family drama is slated to follow Recipe for Love, premiering its story on July 25 this month. Production is being led by PD Hong Seok-gu (Queen’s House, Beauty and Mr. Romantic) and writer Lee Kyung-hee (Chocolate). [Osen]
- Coupang Play has come out with a batch of character stills for Cheating Is Not the Issue Here, giving us a peek into the light and dark layers of the black comedy’s four leads: Kim Hye-soo (Unmasked), Jo Yeo-jung (Made in Korea), Kim Ji-hoon (Dear X), and Kim Jae-chul (Perfect Crown). The suspense series unfolds on July 31, with PD Lee Chang-hee (A Killer Paradox, Hell Is Other People) directing alongside co-writing by Jung Eun-kyung and Park Soo-rin. [Sports Donga (1), (2)]
