JYP Entertainment has signed an agreement with Xiaomang, an IP commerce platform affiliated with Chinese state-owned media group Hunan Broadcasting and Film Group, to collaborate on license-based merchandise business and merchandise distribution for its artists’ intellectual property (IP) in China.
On July 3 KST, JYP Entertainment shared “This collaboration was established with the aim of expanding official merchandise business and distribution opportunities in China based on JYP artists’ IP, and providing local fans with a more reliable official merchandise purchasing experience.” Artists currently signed to JYP include founder and lead producer J.Y. Park, 2PM, DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids, BOY STORY, ITZY, NiziU, Xdinary Heroes, NMIXX, NEXZ, GIRLSET, and KickFlip.
Under this agreement, JYP Entertainment will collaborate with Xiaomang on artist IP license-based merchandise business, while its subsidiary Blue Garage Co., Ltd. will jointly pursue collaboration on the Chinese distribution of officially released domestic merchandise. Xiaomang also operates a business that connects content, fandom, and commerce, backed by a user base of approximately 200 million and the influence of local OTT service Mango TV.
