Broadcaster tvN has stoked the anxieties of K-Drama fans with its lineup announcement.
On February 12, the network unveiled its first confirmed list of K-Dramas to air in 2026, curated to appeal to its target audience, “tvN New Adults.” This group is defined as adults who carry real-life responsibilities while still engaging with trends and emotional sensibilities.
Some of the shows listed include K-Dramas such as Siren’s Kiss, Mad Concrete Dreams, and Chilling Romance. Cooking shows like Street Restaurant Fighter (working title) and Space Rice Cake Shop, and reality shows such as Iron Girls 3 and Kill It: Style Creator War (working title) are also on the list.

While the lineup has sparked heavy anticipation among viewers, they also noticed that The Second Signal, the sequel to tvN’s most popular K-Drama, Signal, was missing from the list.
Fans all over the world have waited for this sequel for ten years, and it was only in June 2025 that their prayers were finally answered. However, the project got derailed after lead actor Jo Jin Woong got embroiled in a massive controversy in December after Dispatch exposed his alleged criminal past.

The backlash was so severe that Jo announced his retirement from the entertainment industry within days. Ever since then, the fate of the Signal sequel has been up in the air.

tvN had previously released a statement, vowing to “devote every effort to finding the best solution for the project…even if it takes some time.” Given that this K-Drama was supposed to be the biggest release of 2026 for the network, many are still holding onto hopes for a later release.
