Recently, an X (formerly Twitter) user’s post went viral online after responding to the question of why idols don’t post on fan messaging platforms on a particular day.

Question: Really? They really don’t come on Bubble on March 1 (Independence Day)?

Answer: Yeap. There are a lot of other companies that do this, too.

While many fans were surprised that idols would be banned from posting on social media on this holiday, others felt it was due to the multiple incidents that have occurred on this day.

I guess a lot of people don’t know, but it wasn’t usually like this. But three years ago, male idols kept getting swept up in controversies for posting Japanese-related content on Korea’s independence holidays, so many companies have banned them from posting on those days.

Looking back in the past, various male idols were caught up in controversies on Korea’s Independence Day.

    Fan: Korea rests tomorrow.

    ENHYPEN’s Ni-ki: Is tomorrow a holiday?

Fan: Now that is a major problem (to not know).

Fan: Tomorrow is Independence day so everyone has a day off.

    Ni-ki: I’m jealous.

Title: THE BOYZ’s Hyunjae recommends a Japanese song on Independence Day

Hyunjae: I want to recommend a song to listen to before going to sleep. It’s Yuuri’s ‘Leo.’ I wanted to recommend it because it’s really good. I saw the lyrics, and they’re from a cat’s point of view.

Netizens felt that it was absolutely necessary for foreign idols to receive history lessons before debut.

Instead of banning them from using the platform, can’t they just give them history lessons? Can’t they knock some sense into them?

ENHYPEN are really lucky. Even though a member disrespects Korean history, they still get away with it because they aren’t that popular in Korea.

Geez….they really need to educate Japanese idols before debuting them.
