K-Pop is a music genre that spans sub-genres, ranging from leaning into hip-hop influences to a more rock sound. As a result, K-Pop groups often release music that can be seen as experimental, fusing genres together to release songs that spark discussions.

Of the active K-Pop groups, one that arguably releases the most hotly discussed songs is NCT 127. While all the units of NCT dip into what is considered the “neo” sound, NCT 127 often push the envelope the hardest with experimental tracks.

In 2021, the group released their third mini-album, Sticker, featuring the title track of the same name. From its release, the song had a polarizing effect, that even some of the group’s members (read: all but Taeyong) seemed to feel some type of way about.

Even more recently, some of the group members still have mixed feelings on the song.
