A past video of KATSEYE‘s Megan has sparked fury after the idol was accused of being racist to member Yoonchae.

Amid the ongoing controversy regarding Manon‘s hiatus, Daniela‘s father was accused of being racist towards Yoonchae.

Recently, a video from the group’s Weekly Idol appearance was shared online, and in the clip, when asked to pick a fruit to describe Yoonchae, Megan chose a banana. The reasons she cited was due to the idol being clumsy and relating it to the idea of someone slipping on a banana peel.
Yet, netizens pointed out that using “banana” to describe a person from East Asia is offensive, as it implies that the person doesn’t act Asian, but white, referring to the stereotype of yellow, which was an offensive way of describing the skin tone of Asians, and then the inside of a banana to show off acting “white.” The OP attached an image showing how offensive it is.
They also added other instances of Megan’s behavior towards Yoonchae.
