Amid ongoing controversy over a YouTuber’s release of CCTV footage showing a social service worker assisting him during a KTX fall accident, criticism has also spread to his wife, a K-Pop idol.
Earlier, famous paraplegic YouTuber Park We fell forward when his wheelchair wheel caught the foot of the social service worker who was securing the ramp as he was getting off the KTX.
Park We uploaded the CCTV footage of the incident to YouTube, stating he was very upset that the worker had placed their foot on the ramp.
Following the release, debates erupted over privacy and portrait rights, sparking heated arguments. As the controversy grew, Park We deleted the video and apologized, saying he had not considered the worker’s position.
Meanwhile, his wife, former Secret member Song Jieun’s recent social media posts were flooded with critical comments related to Park We. Some netizens wrote, “Don’t you care that your husband uploaded that video?” “The couple doesn’t look good together,” and “Please keep your husband in check,” directing their criticism toward Song Jieun as well.
However, Song Jieun is not directly involved in the CCTV footage release. Despite this, some are expressing concern that she is being targeted simply for being Park We’s wife and facing backlash on her social media.
