Kim Go-eun sees Kim Jae-won in a new light in Yumi’s Cells 3

Promotions are ramping up for TVING’s Yumi’s Cells 3 as leading lady Kim Go-eun’s (The Price of Confession) gets ready to date again. With new face Kim Jae-won (The Art of Sarah) appearing in her life, her heart starts to flutter, but these palpitations seem to derive from annoyance more than excitement.
The trailer begins with Kim Yumi (Kim Go-eun) and Shin Soon-rok’s (Kim Jae-won) first meeting as author and PD. Their introduction is formal, but the relationship quickly dissolves into petty disagreements as they argue over the intelligence of Yumi’s dog. He points out that Maltese dogs eat their own poop, and Yumi covers her dog’s ears to keep the blasphemous words out.
Every new encounter with Soon-rok adds to Yumi’s annoyance meter, and she complains about the time they rode the bus together and he put in earbuds. Yumi is so peeved, her fishing cell even catches the rare “ticked bream” (i.e., the fish she only gets when she is massively ticked off). Despite her attempts at small talk, Soon-rok sticks with one-word answers, and Yumi kicks her sheets in bed just thinking about him.
Outside of romance, everything is going well for Yumi. She has a nice place and adoring fans, but even with all that, her days feel dull. However, after meeting Soon-rok, something changes, and though Yumi argues that she is angry at him, it seems her feelings towards Soon-rok have quietly morphed. When he suddenly compliments her, calling her cool, Yumi sounds surprised but looks happy as she smiles to herself.
While Yumi and Soon-rok figure out their feelings, a potential new suitor, Daniel Choi (Sorry Not Sorry), enters the scene. Our young PD is not a fan of the two together, but worry not little reindeer! Yumi is clearly feeling the love in the air as her heart softens around Soon-rok, and rather than remembering all their bad times, she smiles about all their heart-thumping moments, instead.
Returning to the series are PD Lee Sang-yub (My Youth) and writers Song Jae-jung (Memories of the Alhambra) and Kim Kyung-ra (Yumi’s Cells 2), the team behind the previous two seasons. Yumi’s Cells 3 begins its final eight-episode romance April 13 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
