Kim Hye-joon goes to work to see My Bias, My Boss
by lovepark
Most office workers dread Monday mornings, but not tvN’s newest leading lady Kim Hye-joon (Cashero). The upcoming romantic comedy My Bias, My Boss follows the life of a fangirl who succeeds at “job hunting + ticketing.” In other words, she gets to make money AND stare at her handsome oppa’s face at work.
The teaser opens to a filled concert hall as fans wave light sticks and chant D.N.X. In the crowd, Nam Da-reum (Kim Hye-joon) watches with sparkles in her eyes as her favorite idol group takes the stage, and standing in the center spot is her bias Lee Chan, played by Cha Woo-min (Spirit Fingers).
Da-reum asks us if we go to concerts to see our bias, and suddenly the loud music turns into an elevator bell. She swaps her light stick for an employee badge and proudly declares, “I go to work to see my bias!” As the poster of Chan winks back at her, Da-reum declares herself the newest employee, or more specifically, the Korean title of the show “Bias’ Employee.”
While not featured in the teaser, Kang Hoon (Hunter with a Scalpel) plays Kang Ha-ki, the CEO of the fashion platform start-up Appello where both Da-reum and Chan work. In terms of looks and skills, Ha-ki is nearly perfect, but his one weakness is relationships, especially romantic ones. Thus, when Ha-ki starts catching feelings for the new employee, he is thrown for a loop, which creates some unexpected changes in the office.
Based off the webtoon My Oppa Is an Idol, the upcoming adaptation is directed by PD Park Ji-hyun and PD Jung Da-hyung with scripts penned by Lee Young (Siren’s Kiss) and Kim Ji-ahn. tvN’s My Bias, My Boss is slated for twelve episodes and premieres August 3 in the Monday-Tuesday slot following See You at Work Tomorrow.
