Kim Jae-won falls for Kim Go-eun in Yumi’s Cells 3

The newest teaser for TVING’s Yumi’s Cells 3 shines the spotlight on Kim Go-eun’s (The Price of Confession) newest suitor Kim Jae-won (The Art of Sarah). After seeing our heroine Kim Yumi experience love and heartbreak over two seasons, the final installment follows her journey with the quiet Shin Soon-rok and his village of cells.
At work, Shin Soon-rok is known as calm and rational. His expression hardly changes all day, and even Yumi agrees that his face basically has “calm” written all over it. The reason, though, for Soon-rok’s lack of emotions is not because he does not have them, but rather, he operates on energy-saving mode at work.
Soon-rok is a huge introvert, and whenever he has to be outside, his village of cells is operated by one. In the real world, this translates to one-word answers and slumped shoulders, but as soon as he gets back home, his colorful village comes to life. His styled hair relaxes, his suit changes to comfy loungewear, and even his sharp glasses turn a softer shade.
At home, Soon-rok charges his battery by taking bubble baths while drinking banana milk, listening to music while munching on dumplings, and watching movies while snacking on popcorn (it seems Yumi’s hunger cell could meet their match). However, as Yumi’s new editor, Soon-rok takes his job seriously and tells her to contact him at any time if she needs his help. While Yumi assures him that she will not bother him, Soon-rok responds, “It’s not a bother.”
As the two get closer outside of work hours, something strange happens in Soon-rok’s village: his cells start to move even outside the house! Soon-rok is shocked to notice all the bright lights in the world, and it seems the catalyst for this change stems from a certain adorable author who is ready for love as well.
With the original team behind the previous seasons returning, PD Lee Sang-yeob (My Youth) takes the helm once again alongside writers Song Jae-jung (Memories of the Alhambra) and Kim Kyung-ra. Yumi’s Cells 3 is slated for eight episodes and starts its final adventure April 13 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
