Singer and TV personality Kim Jong Kook enjoyed a solo trip in Hawaii, but he faced a difficult situation while traveling.
On October 1st, a video titled “Instead of a beach vacation, I went to see turtles… (Feat. Hawaii)” was uploaded to Kim Jong Kook’s YouTube channel.
Kim Jong Kook explained that the unexpected break came because Running Man was canceled due to Asian Games coverage, so he decided to visit Hawaii.
This was his third visit to Hawaii; he went with his mother the first time and traveled alone the second time. He specifically mentioned visiting Hawaii alone three years ago as well.
The next day, Kim Jong Kook enjoyed the good weather, saying, “It’s good for resting.” However, he soon added, “I need to go to the outskirts, but there’s nowhere to go. If I go out, there are many tourists and many Koreans,” expressing the difficulty of moving freely in popular tourist spots.
Indeed, Kim Jong Kook was seen wearing sunglasses and a mask while riding the bus, concealing his face. Given the large number of Korean tourists abroad as well, his low-profile solo travel attracted attention.
Even while traveling, his focus remained on exercise. He said, “The beach is pretty for a day or two,” then sought out a gym, even asking a local passerby directly for directions.
During this, Kim Jong Kook naturally conversed in English, demonstrating his fluent English skills. He safely arrived at the gym he had been directed to and continued his unwavering “love for exercise” even in Hawaii.
