Actor Kim Soo Hyun, one year after his tearful press conference, has released an official statement following the issuance of an arrest warrant for Garosero Institute’s Kim Se Ui.
Arrest Warrant Issued For Kim Se Ui For Using AI To Fabricate Kim Sae Ron’s Voice
On the 27th, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, released an official statement addressing various allegations and evidence raised against him, as well as several related lawsuits and complaints.
The agency stated, “The deceased’s KakaoTalk conversations made public were revealed to be forged and altered conversations with unrelated third parties, and the deceased’s voice was confirmed to be manipulated material generated using AI technology.”
Accordingly, the court recognized the seriousness of charges including defamation by spreading false information under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution and coercion of filmed materials using cameras), and threats, and issued arrest warrants against those who raised these suspicions.
They also expressed deep gratitude for the efforts of the investigative authorities, who revealed the truth based on objective evidence.
Furthermore, reflecting on the past year, they added, “At the press conference a year ago, Kim Soo Hyun promised, ‘I will not ask you to believe me, but I will prove it.’ The past year for Kim Soo Hyun was solely spent fulfilling that promise.” They concluded by sincerely thanking everyone who believed in and waited for Kim Soo Hyun during this time.
Earlier, Kim Soo Hyun was embroiled in controversy after allegations surfaced that he had dated the late actress Kim Sae Ron since her minor years. While Kim Soo Hyun admitted to having dated the late Kim Sae Ron, he firmly stated that they never dated while she was a minor.
