Kim Sun-ho attempts to translate love with Go Yoon-jung

Communication is the key to any relationship in both spoken and unspoken ways, and we tackle the question of Can This Love Be Translated in Netflix’s newest teaser and posters with Kim Sun-ho (When Life Gives You Tangerines) and Go Yoon-jung (Resident Playbook) as our faltering-but-still-trying leads.
Traversing the seas for a cross-cultural travel and dating show called Romantic Trip, our K-celeb Cha Mu-hee (Go Yoon-jung) has been cast opposite Japan’s hottest star Kurosawa Hiro – played by Japanese actor Fukushi Sota (Ai no Nai Koibitotachi). But while there are flirty vibes and real ~feelings~ developing from Hiro’s end, for Mu-hee the sparks are actually flying off-screen with her language interpreter Joo Ho-jin (Kim Sun-ho).
It’s a confusing situation for Ho-jin, though, who has to witness and translate for Mu-hee and Hiro on all their ‟dates,” even if they are just playing it up for the camera. It also doesn’t help that our multi-lingual hero generally finds Mu-hee very perplexing, as she’s always doing and saying things that don’t seem to add up in Ho-jin’s head. The teaser then comes to a close on both Ho-jin and Mu-hee’s frustrated plea to understand one another.
Unfolding its story on January 16 next week, Netflix’s Can This Love Be Translated also stars Lee Yi-dam (The Queen Who Crowns) and Choi Woo-sung (I Am a Running Mate).
Production for the rom-com was helmed by PD Yoo Young-eun (Red Heart) alongside scripts penned by the writer duo known as the Hong Sisters (Alchemy of Souls, Hotel del Luna), Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran.
